Blaster Al Ackerman

   

   

This original drawing is done in pastel artist crayon & pen & colored pencil, with a title "The Blaster" scrawled in the upper corner. It's one of Blaster's infamous self-portraits, this time of him sitting on the moon. The postmark is 30 December 1998.

Blaster Al also makes hilarious cinderella stamps, one of which is included alongside the real postage stamp on the address side of this particular card. The bulk of the address side is taken up by a letter from Blaster talking about science fiction pulp magazines. Blaster Al is famed for many things, but is probably most lionized as an author. A handful of quality underground publishers have issued collections of his amazingly cool surreal strange & funny short stories & essays.
