Honoria

This original painting was done on rippled black cardboard & sent to me in the early 1990s. The cancellation on the address side is black on black, so couldn't be read, though it was in a box with lots of stuff from 1996, so I would've thought it was from 1996. But Honoria wrote a message in silver ink on the address side thanking me for sending her mail art & saying she'd only been doing mail art for one year, whereas it seems to me Honoria aka Madelyn Starbuck first appeared on the mail art scene in 1989, so perhaps I should've dated this 1990. In any case, since this long-ago posting from Honoria, she has become a dynamo & something of a leader in the mail art community.

In any case, I periodically ship away all the mail art I've accumulated, or I would have hundreds of boxes of it by now. Every time I "weed down" the saved stuff, this lovely post card gets continuously saved, & I've been telling myself for a very long time I should frame it.
