Book illustrations from 1940 by Canadian-Russian artist Diana Thorne (b.1895). She specialized in writing and illustrating dog and animal books for kids, including Drawing Dogs (1940), Around the World with Children and Dogs (1940), Dogs: Paintings and Stories (1932), and a great many others. She was herself a sportswoman and dog owner.
