In 2006, Biggest Loser host and Days of our Lives soap star Alison Sweeney had a chihuahua named Paco, shown above. Paco got out of their Hollywood Hills home and took off never to be seen, though a thousand dollar reward was offered for anyone who might've found him.
Eventually Alison obtained Jorge, a rescue chihuahua, who lives with her family today. She holds Jorge and her one-eyed Boston terrier Winkie below. Jorge had been on Death Row because in homely physical shape, needing a long recovery from mange before he'd have a real chance at adoption. But a no-kill shelter that specialized in saving dogs kill-shelters deemed unadoptable took him in.
When Alison and her family went looking for a dog suitable for their three-year-old son Ben, they spotted pitiful Jorge. Alison said, "Jorge needed us. He was all huddled up and had no hair left. It just took a lot of love, care, and time at the veterinary hospital to nurse him back to health."
