So You Think You Can Dance contestant and Dancing With the Stars professional dancer, coming from multiple championships as a ballroom competitor, Lacey Schwimmer is the daughter of noted dancer Buddy Schwimmer.

She adopted a two-year-old cream-colored chihuahua in 2009 from the Orange Bone Shelter in Los Angeles, and named her Madeliene.

When adopted, Maddy required special assistance and expensive medical attention for a leg injury, and was only getting around on three legs. Maddy joined a family that already included a young black chihuahua-pinscher mix named Harlequin, photographed by Lacey from her camera-phone in the additional photos.

Lacey was grateful for Harlequin and Madelaine's "harmonious bonding" as now she doesn't have to feel guilty leaving for work each morning, because the dogs will have each other. [September 2009]
