Stephin Merritt of the band Magnetic Fields provided the music for the animated feature Coraline (2009). He travels everywhere with Irving, named in honor of Irving Berlin. For a while, Stephin could be seen in the same East Village cafe everyday, with Irving, jotting down ideas for songs.
