Alice Roosevelt was the daughter and only child of President Theodore Roosevelt. She's shown in 1902 in a White House garden with her tiny dog Leo. His breed was never reported, but he certainly looks like a chihuahua; others have guessed he's a maltese. Alice also had a dark-furred Pekingese named Manchu, given to her by Empress Dowager Cixi (Xiao Quin Xian) of China.
