Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, classic comic duo from the silent era and early talkies, on studio lot with Oliver's tiny doggy, possibly a chihuahua, or a chi-yorkie mix.

Oliver would sometimes walk an itsy bitsy dog on the end of a thick rope big enough to tie down a boat (carrying the weight of the rope himself of course; the dog couldn't've dragged it), while Stan would walk along with a big dog on a slim string.

They starred with another dog in their very first film together, The Lucky Dog (1921). In the lobbycard reproduced below, Stan's faithful dog fetches Oliver's lit stick of dynamite and brings it back to the unfortunate lads.
