Chihuahua: The Movie (2010), directed by Michael Amundsen, is a low-budget film striving to take advantage of the popularity of chihuahuas, and timed to ride the coat-tails of Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 (2010).
A crabby divorcee (Anya Benton) wakes up one day to find herself in the body of a tiny chihuahua named Bella (played by a male chihuahua named Peanut), a service dog that visits hospitalized children to cheer them up.
The film studio Laguna Production has in the past specialized in Latino market films with Latino casts, but this time the cast is non-Latino cast, except for the chihuahua.
