Woody Allen's Bullets Over Broadway (1994) features a yappy chihuahua named Mr. Woofles carried about (and breast-fed) by a screechy Tracy Ulman.

The original dog cast as Mr. Woofles had fleshy warts on his belly making him disgusting to carry about, plus his trainer was obnoxious. Tracy Ulman asked Woody if the dog couldn't be replaced by one that wasn't gross to the touch. The next day, she came to the set and discovered a new trainer with "the Tom Cruise" of chihuahuas.
