In Hamilton, New Zealand, in autumn of 2009, three kittens were orphaned by their feral mother, and were rescued on a farm. A young woman brought them to her home to hand-feed, and her chihuahua Honey immediately took a motherly attitude toward them.
She was not lactating and could not actually feed them, so they stiill had to be bottle-raised. But in between feedings they had the contuous attention and cleaning and cuddling and dry nursing thanks to Honey.
