When Concord, California resident Debby Brown's chihuahua-yorkie mix Lexi was dognaped at the same time their Escalade was stolen, she and her boyfriend Chris put of a $10,000 reward to get her back.
Such a huge amount got them television news coverage even as they were putting up hundreds and hundreds of flyers.
Within a couple days, the thief called to claim the hefty reward. Chris went alone to make the exchange in a PetCo parking lot in Alameda. No attempt was made to instigate an arrest. Chris and Debby were just glad to have Lexi home.
I hope the thief, with his big score, was at least able to buy so much dope he overdosed and died that same night.
