Jack was photographed with his new adoptive family in 2008 when he was already seven years old. He has such a good name, making him a One-Eyed Jack. He lost his eye when his bad first owner struck him on the head with a whiskey bottle.
Some dogs are deeply traumatized after having been mistreated by their first owner, but it's surprising what a big percentage bounce back fine. In his happy new digs, Jack showed only love for everyone, revealing a heart of gold to people and other dogs alike.
He now lives safe and happy in California and has become a bit of a therapy dog visiting nursing homes four days a week, where he cheers up residents and employees and has friends up the wazoo.
