Another handicapped dog also named Scooter, of Lexington, South Carolina, is shown up top in his temporary cart, home-made by his owner Alan Compton.

The second picture shows him as a tiny pup before his eyes even opened. He was born with his front legs missing. Scooter's girlfriend in one of the bottom pictures is Tinkerbell.

When Scooter was big enough for his permanent cart -- a costly item to have custom made -- it was affordable only because Kathy Barton's 4th Grade class in Oklahoma, having seen Scooter highlighted at handicappedpets.com, were very moved and so started a fundraising campaign. Scooter was fitted with his wheeled cart in 2006.
