Azalea & Rhododendron Blossoms Gallery
'Washington State Centennial'
Deciduous Azalea
'Washington State Centennial' azalea is in full fat bud
mid to late April to early May.
When the late April & early May buds first open
into huge trusses of frilly trusses, the blooms are
pale yellow & deep orange,
with a little bit of pink around the fringe.
As the month progresses, the yellow in the petals fades
to white, but the orange dorsal remains brightly golden.
These blossoms fill the garden with their pleasing scent.
